The most interesting astronomical event in November is a unique lunar eclipse, during which our natural moon will temporarily close the planet Uranus for ground observers, which is just entering into an opposition — unfortunately, it is not visible from the territory of Ukraine. Only in the east of the Luhansk region, shortly after moonrise on the evening of November 8, it will be possible to notice the end of partial penumbral phases, although it is impossible to see them with the naked eye.
Of the celestial phenomena available to observations, three fairly powerful annual meteor showers should be mentioned: the Southern and Northern Taurids, as well as the Leonids. The latter in 1999-2002 were marked by powerful “rains”, but now their activity is low and does not exceed up to 20 meteors per hour. The conjunction of Mercury with Venus on the evening of November 21, you can try to look through a telescope or binoculars immediately after sunset, the planets will be located low above the southwestern horizon.
